When Aussie actress, TV presenter and all round mega beach babe Demi Harman isn’t shooting for Better Homes And Gardens, she’s jet-setting back and forth between her home in Sydney and Hollywood.
Whilst at home in Sydney recently, Demi completed a 3-day Standard Cleanse and we have the inside scoop on her Cleanse experience, plus how she stays in shape whilst living a trans-continental lifestyle.
Check it out below.
So now you’ve finished your perhaps best-known role of Sasha on Home And Away, what have you been up to since?
I was super lucky and went straight onto Better Homes and Gardens. Actor turn presenter proved to be trickier than I thought, but thankfully, I love DIY and craft, so I was in my element! Whilst wrangling the glue gun, I also played Riley Hart in Winners and Losers fifth and final season.
Because your job requires you to be in the public eye, what do you do to keep healthy and stay in shape?
I am guilty of not always being in the ‘best shape’ …but I’ve learnt over the years what works for my body. Eating as clean as possible, as much as possible and keeping a good fitness routine.
What does that fitness routine look like?
Because I’m never really based in one place for more than a few weeks or months at a time, it’s always changing. But right now, I’m obsessed with a good boxing class! I do that 3 – 4 times a week, I get a run in once or twice a week and I do yoga as much as possible!
Given that you’re travelling back and forth from LA a lot, what are your health tips for people who are often thrown out of their routine and are constantly on the move like yourself?
I find that ‘self talk’ can either be greatly invigorating or really destructive. In my line of work, rejection is something you come up against frequently, so incorporating things like positive affirmations and just making sure I am looking after my mind, body and spirit is everything!
Describe DAY ONE of your cleanse?
I was so ready for it… strangely whenever I have done any kind of detox I have immediately thought ‘I’m depriving myself and am going to die’…I don’t know if that’s just me? But day one of this cleanse I didn’t feel that way at all! I actually didn’t think about the food element until the end of the day when I was drinking my included Ovvio Tea and felt sad about the absence of a piece of Pana Chocolate.
So now you’re done, how do you feel?
Incredible! Feeling super light and clean.
Have you noticed any physical differences?
I felt able enough to exercise on this cleanse, so I feel strong inside and out! My eyes are also looking really bright and my skin is clear.
Would you do it again?
YAS QUEEN!!!… For sure, I have really enjoyed the experience.
Can’t get enough of Demi? You can catch her in your living room on Better Homes and Gardens on Friday’s at 7PM on 7.
