If you’ve ever tried Banoffee Pie, you’ll know it’s notoriously irresistible and usually full of all things naughty. Thanks to Oh She Glows (originally adapted from My New Roots) we’ve managed to find a vegan version that’s still just as decadent, but super light and healthy too. We’re talking almond-oat crust layered with sticky date caramel, sweet banana coins, luxurious whipped coconut cream and shaved dark chocolate to make for an insanely delicious pie that’s sure to impress.
Butternut pumpkin pasta has long been a staple during the winter months and despite the visuals that spring to mind (Mmmm butter!) this is not a sauce-heavy pasta. In fact, the thing we love most about this dish is that it’s so damn tasty you don’t even miss all that sauce! The whole wheat flavour of the pasta balances perfectly with the roasted pumpkin and salty overtones of cheese, making this meal absolutely delicious! So here it is, check out Naturally Ella’s recipe for an easy prep weeknight pasta featuring savoury roasted pumpkin with butter, parmesan, walnuts, and rosemary.

With the weather being so wiley as of late, admittedly we have spent a bit of extra time indoors. Luckily, our love of healthy comfort food lead us right to this amazing recipe by certified nutritionist Jacqueline Alwill of The Brown Paper Bag. This healthy take on the classic, homemade Chilli Con Carne is the definition of comfort food AND it’s so damn healthy; high in fibre, protein (and it’s meat free), vitamins, minerals AND low in saturated fat, this recipe is a dead-set winner. We recommend enjoying with guacamole, fresh lime, coriander and sweet potato wedges to add the Californian touch. Enjoy!
We really, really love tacos and we especially love when there’s a whole lotta goodness goin’ on inside them too! Lo and behold we have found a recipe that truly blows the unhealthy competition out of the water. A spicy raw walnut mix will act as the protein base while fresh, tangy salsa, smooth avocado slices, and a cashew sour cream inspired sauce will give you the garnished kick you’re after! Wrap it all up in a cabbage, or giant spinach leaf and just you wait to hear that Mariachi band sing…
Traditionally Christmas time means stocking the fridge with a well-known concoction made of beaten eggs, milk, and sugar – Eggnog. While we totally get the appeal of guzzling cup after cup of this ridiculously festive (usually alcoholic) beverage, as lovers of all things healthy we at Cali thought we would offer you guys a deliciously healthy alternative.
