2. Catch The Last Of The Olympics
Fastest man alive, Usain Bolt endeavours to become the first person in history to win gold over three races, in three successive Olympics and is a ‘must not miss’ event. After already taking gold in the 100m, the 200m final will air at 11.30am AEST Fri Aug 19th and we’re hoping to see Usain make Olympic history, “I came to these Olympics to win three gold medals. I came to prove myself one of the greats and that’s my goal”, says Bolt. Will he or won’t he? We shall see, but we all hope he does. What an athlete! The 4 x 100m relay will air Saturday August 20th at 11.35am AEST and is also a must to watch.
3.Visit Pocket City Farms @ Camperdown Commons
Do yourself and your planet a favour by going to check out Sydney’s first urban farm! Pocket City Farms, a not-for-profit initiative, is run by a motivated group of skilled individuals that are passionate about urban farming and sustainability. Located in Camperdown on what was once a bowling green has been transformed into an ecological food bowl. Pick a weekend to pop into one of their yoga classes, follow up with a clean meal at the onsite restaurant, ‘Acre‘ and even spend the rest of the day playing volunteer farmer. There are heaps of volunteering options available from weeding, seed raising, planting and watering, among others. Just BYO gloves, hat & water bottle and you’re good to go for a great day outdoors.
