We’ve definitely seen the days becoming longer in Sydney and we’re hoping that spring weather will be hitting our shores soon, because this year, there are tonnes of events, activities and things to see and do all over town. So, if you’re as ready as much as we are to ditch those winter woolies, let’s collectively cross our fingers for those warmer temps any day now and get ready for springtime in Sydney!
1. Menu Grazing
Cali Press has been in the process of re-launching its Cali Menu and this spring it’s a definite must try. The new offering include an array of fresh, made to order sandwiches, new smoothies and açai bowls. To get the best of all, be sure to come and enjoy the new Cali Menu over our official launch weekend in September. We will be offering some great discounts and special offers for all our VIP’s. Keep an eye out on our social pages to find out when the new Cali Menu will be hitting your local Cali Cafe and prepare to enjoy.
2. Day Trip It Out
What a perfect time to pick up your heels and take a day trip to iconic Palm Beach (known to locals as ‘Palmie’ and to tourists as ‘Summer Bay’). As Sydney’s most northern beach its spectacular position affords sweeping views of the ocean, Broken Bay, Lion Island, and Ku-ring-gai National Park. You’ll get your bearings and make the most of these views with a walk to the famous Barrenjoey Lighthouse and Keepers’ Cottages, as well as gain a taste of local history.
3. Green Thumb It Up
Whether it be planting flowers, growing vegetables or ridding those leftover winter weeds, re-connecting with the earth after being cooped up all winter means waking up the garden to a new growing season. If you’re a beginner don’t stress! Since it’s spring you’ll find it’s the best time to do a good job with minimal effort. With a small amount of tending your bed daily the rich soil and prime weather conditions will have you seeing some growing happening in your garden space in no time at all.
4. Make The Most Of The Long Days
The mornings are getting lighter earlier and the days are getting longer. This means two great prospects. Firstly, we can all be getting up earlier and enjoying some outdoor ‘me’ time before heading off to work like… that early morning power-walk, surf or wave watch with a Cali Press coffee. Secondly, since our days are longer, we can take that much needed afternoon stroll to wind down a crazy busy day or maybe take an afternoon icebergs dip (hey it’s not that cold anymore!). Not matter what your preference, there’s definitely a lot more time to enjoy outdoors to do more of what you love.
5. Fill Your Calendar
From the Festival Of The Winds and Sculpture by the Sea at Bondi Beach, Listen Out and Art & About, spring in Sydney brings with it some of the best kinds of festivals. So get out the calendar: the next three months mean everything from music festivals to getting yourself some amazing produce at your local market. But if you’re more laid-back than into planning things, maybe check out some of Sydney’s top picnic spots or rooftop bars, so that when the sun shines you’re ready to get out there and enjoy all springtime has to offer.
